I’ve ridden the biggest Ferris wheel in Africa! Sounds impressive, doesn’t it? Well, if you go to Two Rivers Mall in Kenya you too can ride the tallest Ferris wheel in Africa and then go home to tell your friends all about it.
But just how tall is this tallest Ferris wheel? And what is the experience like? Read on to find out!
Heading to Kenya? Wondering what to pack? Check out this post!

How Tall is the Eye of Kenya?
Let’s just get this out of the way: for a Ferris wheel that touts itself as the biggest in Africa, it’s actually quite small. It’s more like a slightly large regular Ferris wheel by American standards, measuring in at about 197 feet tall (60 meters).
In contrast, the High Roller in Las Vegas—currently the tallest Ferris wheel in the world—is 550 feet tall (167.6 meters). The London Eye, meanwhile, is 443 feet (135 meters) and the fourth tallest wheel in the world.
So if you come to Kenya thinking that Africa is huge so of course their biggest Ferris wheel will be huge…well, you’ll be a little disappointed. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t still exciting! Despite its size, the Eye of Kenya is still a fun activity for adults and kids alike. And hey, you’ll get to say you’ve ridden the biggest Ferris wheel in Africa which is pretty cool!

The Eye of Kenya Experience
The Eye of Kenya is located at the beautiful Two Rivers Mall in Kenya. It’s quite inexpensive to ride (I paid 500 KSh) and gives you a fun view over the mall and the other amusement park attractions below.
You simply purchase your ticket when you’re ready to ride and then walk straight to the Ferris wheel to give your ticket to someone and get on. We decided to ride it at night, as we wanted to see the lights below and the lights spreading out over the city.
There are 40 cabins on the wheel and 6 passengers can fit into each one. One revolution takes about 17 minutes, and each ticket give you one ride. However, when we were there it wasn’t very busy so the people manning the wheel kindly let us go around a second time!
One thing that I particularly enjoyed about this wheel was the fun light show it puts on at night. You don’t notice it so much when you’re actually riding the wheel, but once you’re off the wheel and back on the ground you can sit and watch the lights as they swirl and change colors. It really stands out in a vibrant way and is enjoyable to watch!
So are you ready to ride the Eye of Kenya? Even if you’ve already been on bigger Ferris wheels somewhere else, you’ve never been on a bigger one in Africa! And it’s a fun and inexpensive activity to enjoy during the day or evening, especially if you already happen to be at the mall. Have fun!
